There should be a social media filter called "Things that will make you feel crap about your career," and all writers should be required to use it on a regular basis.

At least we aren't all depressed and discouraged at the same time. That way, we can buoy one another through the hard times.

We (well, most of us) cheer each other on, honestly. It's just hard for any of us to log on and be hit by the social media congratulating others, often in a steady wave, on days or weeks or months when we haven't had anything other than "hi, I'm working" to say.
